Hurry up and wait.

Waiting on paperwork, and people, seems to be what my days are made up of lately.

Mortgage paperwork. Appraisal paperwork. Vacation paperwork.

The above things, people ask you to put in early or hurry up and submit it, then you have to WAIT! I know this isn’t the case in all areas of business or society, but are people so lazy in today’s world, that they cannot reply or work in an expedited manner?

Are people so lazy as to not respond to you, or hurry up with paperwork. Is this a way to ensure job security by not going as fast as you can? By taking longer than it has to, are people ensuring that they keep their job as well as maybe ensuring someone else has a job because of all the paperwork they have waiting because they haven’t done anything with it!

I’m sorry I am ranting about all of this. Just had my fill of it for now. Buying a house is chock full of “hurry and wait” attitudes. I mean the whole process involves MANY more people than just you, the bank, real estate agents, and the sellers. I’ve talked to nearly 9 different people of different titles, lawyers, home inspectors, moving consultants, you name it! The amount of paperwork involved nearly boggles the mind. But in the end this one will be worth it, our first home. YAY!

That’s all better than some of the responses you get to questions of management at work. I would honestly love for a member of management to tell me “I don’t know” than to try to give me some BS answer. The few managers that actually answer you with I am not sure, I will get right back to you, get my utmost respect.
