My grandmother makes a great fruit salad. I am not sure where the recipe comes from, but it’s great!
The fruit:
- 3 Bananas (not overly ripe) sliced.
- 3 cups halved green seedless grapes
- 1 can of pineapple chunks (14 oz can? I think that’s the size it’s about 5-6 inches tall)
- 1 cups fresh blue berries (if they aren’t fresh you really shouldn’t put them in this recipe)
- 4 halved and sliced ripe kiwi fruits
- 1 package frozen strawberries, preferably sliced (substitute peach chunks if peach pie filling not available in your store)
The binding agent:
- Peach pie filling; slice the peaches into bite size portions (substitue strawberry pie filling if peach not available)
In a large bowl mix all the fruit together and toss to desired mix.
Add the peach pie filling all at once, then fold the fruit into it making sure to completely coat the fruit with it.
Put in refrigerator for at least 2 hours, overnight works best for combining of flavors.
