It’s that time of the year, the time where everyone puts off what they put off every year. Doing their TAXES. To be honest, I don’t see why taxes are put off til the last minute all the time. The news outlets cover it the same every year, with scenes of people heading to the post office at midnight with their tax returns in hand. It just all seems absolutely ridiculous to me.
Maybe it’s only the people that owe money are the ones waiting all this time. That is also a bad thing isn’t it? You still owe the money irregardless of when you file the taxes. I am sure though, that even some that have money coming back are waiting til the last minute. I mean you are giving free use of your money to the government the longer you wait. Believe me they would be coming after you hard and fast if you owed them the amount that they owe some.
Every year my wife and I have our taxes done before the end of January if at all possible. We usually do our taxes online with Turbo Tax, but used H & R Block this year for the fact that we had file something for a tax return a couple years ago, and it was just simpler that way. We have gotten our tax refund and put it towards our house buying expenses in early February.
Why can’t everyone do it?
