I bought my Watchmen ticket on Monday the 2nd of March. I went to watch the movie today March 8th, at the sold out show, at the IMAX theater in Natick. I got there 45 minutes early to pickup my tickets and the place was already crowded.
I am a new fan to the book, and I enjoyed this movie. The Rorsach character is one of my favorites, and I especially liked his line when he was in the lockup just after threw the grease on the guy that was about to shank him. He says “I’m not locked up in here with you, YOU’RE LOCKED UP IN HERE WITH ME!” Everyone in the theater cheered when he said this.
The movie is pretty close to the book, but not a substitue for it. I recommend reeading the book first then watch the movie. It would make more sense.

Would you say it is an adult only book or one a young male could read? My son would probably enjoy it if it was ok for his age.

Hmm. Depends on how old he is. It’s not terribly brutal or anything. It doesn’t have some drug references and ladies of the night and all that. If he’s under 13, I’d say not yet.
