It seems the world is moving too fast lately. It seems we are heading for a burn out soon. Are we burning up our existence? Have we let go of the wheel and are now just out of control? My hope is that cooler heads prevail and we slow it down some. I recently watched the movie “I Am Legend”, and it makes you think.
We are in such a sprint to cure these major diseases, but are we stopping to think of the consequences of the cure? I know these apocalyptic movies are made to do just that get you to think about the end of times and all that. I enjoyed the film immensely, but I’d certainly settle for a slowdown.
Can I tell you a little secret about life? It is pretty pointless.
We’re all just wasting time. You are born, you live, you die. In between you have to work a lot of hours to, well to postpone the dying part or at least make the dying part less unpleasant.
Luckily, in the United States we have become good enough at postponing death that we have some spare hours in our days. So we spend these hours wasting time with our families, playing games, etc… Some watch sports, some have sex, some read books and some play games.
While wasting your time, make the most of it, you don’t get much. Waste your time on being happy. If it’s a game that makes you happy, play it. If it’s blogging that makes you happy, blog blog blog that time away. Whatever it is just remember it is ALL pointless, and this is the only life you get. Waste it wisely.
Recently, we got the movie Meet the Robinsons via Netflix. In it is this song called Little Wonders. I love it! Just thought I’d say that. Here is a video for it.
I personally think she’s overrated. She’s not all that pretty, and you know she’s gotta be super high maintenance.
Personally a down to earth woman, born in Warner Robbins, GA, in 1973, is the only woman for me
Oh and personally the jail thing? I don’t give a crap about her jail sentence. In this country, we propel these losers to celebrity status. We treat them differently than we treat our neighbors. Why? Are they any better than anyone else? No, we’ve just given them tons of money, by watching their TV Shows, their movies, their escapades. NO matter how much money we give them, they can’t wash off asshole, b*tch or drunk, it’s just part of who they are. If you don’t like them, don’t buy their movies, music, or just change the channel.
I mean sheesh, in death, Anna Nicole got more airtime than when she was alive. I would go around the house or call my wife on the phone and say, guess what? Anna Nicole is still dead!
So what we should remember here is that, I can ramble on sometimes, early on a Saturday morning.
Here’s some YouTube to keep you laughin this morning:
I suppose everyone has certain favorite specialities that show up only at Christmas time. This is one of mine from my grandmother. A peanut butter fudge recipe that is at least 50 years old and probably much older. It always works for me and makes the best of this type that I have ever tasted. It sets up delicate and turns to smooth creaminess on eating.
2 lbs powdered sugar
1/4 lb butter
1 can Evaporated milk
1 jar Marshmallow cream (7 oz.)
2 jars Simply Jiff creamy peanut butter
(this is my choice)
Combine the sugar, butter and evaporated milk in a large heavy pot. Bring to a boil and set the boil so that it cannot be stirred down. Stir continuously to prevent burning. Boil until the liquid tests to a firm ball in cold water. This will be approximately 15 minutes from a good boil. Remove from heat and stir in the jar of marshmallow cream and the two jars of peanut butter (I use jars containing 17.3 oz. of peanut butter each.). Combine this thoroughly and quickly because this will begin setting up immediately. Put into a large glass cake pan that has been buttered. I use a 9 X 13 inch pan. Allow to cool somewhat and cut into serving size pieces. complete cooling and enjoy. This makes about 4 pounds of fudge. Don’t
